Iron Cove 22.02.07

I went out with Henry's friends to fish markets first at 11am before high tide at 12:30 bought some seafood lunch. Me and henry was debating about whether theres fish or not near the fishmarkets and he said there is but i proved him wrong badly cuz i said there is structures and rubbish food for them to eat. Anyway i was right wen i dropped a chip in the water a whole group of big fat breams all like 25 to 30cm+ came in a school fighting over a chip. So then i chucked more it and they were fighting for it. They even took a lemon LOL must be hungry. Yeh i feel like sitting on those picnic tables with a line over the balcony thing and just hook them up like that. Or maybe i'll sneak in at night one day ^_^

Anyway headed to Iron cove's usual spot for some bream fishing at 11:30 was fishing the run out. I was the first to hook a small bait size tailor and then used it for bait. Wow i neva used fresh bait before so good LOL and watching henry kill the tailor and bream was the first. Anywayz first proper fish was 20cm so back it went. Then a 25cm one came up all hooked by Bill and he wanted a fish as his mum wanted him to bring home something >_<>

yeh we moved down the bridge used lures but got nothing as it was high tide. Went home at like 2pm it was an alrite day i guess

First kingie!! 27.1.06

went out on to boat today at 8am fished the wedding cakes. burleyed down and then was using floated prawns down into the middle column and then Sean's rod had a massive bend on his rod. It was my first time to hear the drag go like that ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzz on 20lb fireline 15lb mono trace. We noticed that the line wasnt on the reel's guides properly so instead the line was heating up and it was literally cutting through the plastic part of the reel. It almost cut the metal arm bail off. >_< he was using Brian's new shakespeare reel LOL.

Anywayz we headed off to clifton gardens at 11 after hear alot of reports that kingies were lurking by. So we burleyed and floated whole pilchards out. However i was using a bit of lead so it sunk to the bottom, whereas Brian was using unweight pillie on a 2 hook rig. And then the rod had a little bend. Wen he set the hook the rod just full bent and he was on. This time the line is on the reel properly and was using 20lb fireline 20lb trace this time just to be sure. Landed a 62cm Kingie very nice! we were yelling soo loud that the guys on the near by wharf was all looking at us while they had zero action LOL. Then the 30+ knot wind came and we headed by to Rosebay all drenched in sea water.
